About
In loving memory of my friend, Bo Carr (1964 - 1983) who was lost in a tragic car crash at the young age of 19. This was a profound loss for me personally, and little did I know how it would effect me so many years later.
Over the years I have had a reoccurring dream of my friend Bo and it is always positive. He is always happy and smiling and the dreams are strangely vivid and real. One day, after one of these dreams, I sat at the piano and this song literally wrote itself. Never has a song so readily produced itself from beginning to end with such ease. For this reason, I can't help but to think that he had a hand in it's creation.
All of the memories feel like they happened yesterday. At one point in my life he was like a big brother to me. Someone who cared about me and had my back even though I was 4 years younger than him. I looked up to him and he had a strong influence on my life as an example of kindness and benevolence. I was so dismayed and confused by his passing, I couldn't bear going to the service, where his "ashes were spread right out front where we grew up." My lack of attendance at the service in my own backyard was something that ate at me for a long time. However, the silver lining is that he has had a strong presence in my dreams and all these years later my art and his beauty have combined to create something new and special.
Bo, you're still alive to me. - Tobias

Lyrics
You keep visiting in my dreams
But I don't know what it means
Well, I'll sing this song and it might help
This world feel a little less wrong, a little less wrong
Bo, how would you know, that the man upstairs would say, it's time to go
Bo, how would you know, that that man behind the wheel
Would give you such a raw deal, yes, we all know
It was too early to go
I had a big brother that was out to get me
You were the one who was there to protect me
They say it's just memories but you're still alive to me
We all know it was too early to go, too early to go
We all know it was too early to go
I was scared inside, so I'd run and hide ,
and pray or dream or maybe just cry.
Well to my surprise, you too took my side
and then I knew there were people like you
Good people like you.
Bo, how would you know, that the man upstairs would say, it's time to go
Bo, how would we know, that that man behind the wheel
Would give you such a raw deal, yes, we all know
It was too early to go
Your ashes were spread right out front where we grew up.
I just couldn't bear it, I'll be damned I didn't show up.
They say it's just memories but you're still alive inside of me
We all know it was too early to go, whoa, too early to go, yeah
We all know it was too early to go
